"Hi Derek,

 

I thought I would send you these pics. They are at my house. I put my 36" snowblower on it, chop ice on it, have a 6 man Jacuzzi on it, spill drinks on it , drop cigarettes on it, had puppies pee on it, any abuse you can think of..... it's seen it.

 

Summary: Looks like the day I put it down  (6 years ago).

 

PS: It's also a good puppy dryer.

ThruFlow™ topped dock survives Ernesto's worst!

The ThruFlow™ Premium Decking System again cited as the cause for dock's storm survival. Read on:

“I live just south of Morehead City NC. Bogue Sound is 2 1/2 miles wide in front of my house. I have a 300 ft long pier with a 20' X 20'  T-Head. This pier was 18 months old when Hurricane Ophelia hit on 15 sept 2005. We had sustained winds of 90 to 100 MPH, and a storm surge of 7 ft. My entire pier was destroyed. I rebuilt  the pier 4 ft wide on 16" stringers. The Thru-Flow decking was attached to 8 ft alum stringers with the intent to remove the decking upon approaching storms. When Hurricane Ernesto came on September 1^st, 2007, I started taking up the 8 foot sections. At the very end of the pier I left 13 panels as a test, well secured. When the wind increased I abandoned the last 8 or 10 panels which were only tacked in the corners of each 8 ft section. This area had sustained 70 to 80 MPH winds and a 3 to 5 ft surge. The next morning all the panels near shore were found in the neighbors yard, intact in their 8 ft sections. The 13 well secured panels at the end of the pier were still in place. UNDISTURBED!!!!  My neighbors were astounded that the panels survived the storm. I have since attached the entire pier in the same manor. At full moon high tide a large wake from a passing boat will pass through my pier as if it weren't there. It is quite amazing.  Anyone in this area with interest in Thru-Flow is welcome to visit and inspect my pier. I have 3 neighbors who also have Thru-flow piers.”

ThruFlow™ decking praised in survival of Florida Dock from Hurricane Wilma

ThruFlow™ decking panels have been identified yet again as the main concern why a dock has survived a Hurricane. Read on:

"(We) built a dock using ThruFlow™ decking for a customer in Key Largo, Florida. The dock has survived three hurricanes that have hit the area, the latest Wilma, having had a nine foot storm surge. This dock, constructed with ThruFlow™ decking, is the only dock in the area to have survived all the storms. I and my customer believe that the fact that this dock survived these punishing storms is a directly attributable to ThruFlow™ decking."
